Testimonials
“Working with Ashlee was everything I didn't know I needed and more. Struggling with fertility issues she offers comprehensive care starting pre pregnancy that carries through pregnancy and post partum. I saw Ashlee through my entire pregnancy and I honestly credit her as a big part of having a successful pregnancy. From acupuncture, to massage, guasha and cupping, she always knew how to get my body to relax. It was because of our connection and how GREAT I felt with her that led me towards her Doula services and looking back I don't know that I would had survived my traumatic birth experience without Ashlee by my side. I had family present too; however, Ashlee brought a different kind of energy to the room that was invaluable. From diffusing oils/to a calming voice/to a gentle touch/to patient focused care through multiple modalities, Ashlee carried me through HOURS of labor; through sun sets and sun rises. She even came with me during a global pandemic into the OR at a one am emergency C-section. When I knew we were all beyond tired she continued caring for me and my son in the post partum unit. I will never be able to sum into words how much Ashlee's presence meant to us during a fertility struggle, post chemo therapy. She is so special to this family and in my son's baby book I created on shutterfly, there is a doula page with pictures of him and her to honor her roll, support, compassion, empathy and love she brought to this entire process. If you are reading this, stop, look no further, you have found your match :)”
My journey to becoming a doula…
I have been intrigued by pregnancy and birth since I was ten years old when I witnessed my cousin’s birth. I’m pretty sure my jaw hung open in disbelief during the whole thing. In my early twenties, I supported my sister through two of her four births and knew then those would not be my last. I became very interested in learning all about birthing babies. I watched all the documentaries and read tons of books on the subject for fun. I seriously considered becoming a midwife then, but convinced myself I should wait until I had experienced it myself and gained some age-old wisdom. Fast forward more than a decade later and I finally got to experience my very own home birth. Even though it was one of those super long and drawn out labors and a 9 lb baby, I DID IT! and it was THE most incredible moment of my life! So of course, when one of my dearest acupuncture patients asked me to attend her birth soon after my own, my heart lit up and I immediately signed up for a proper doula training. Every birth I’ve attended so far has been unique, but the one thing that has been the same is the divine feminine creative power, perseverance and resilience in these birthing women. It is a force of nature that I am extremely humbled by every time.
